ATLANTA - Former NBA All-Star Daron Mookie Blaylock was ordered to spend three years of a 15-year sentence behind bars after he pleaded guilty in a car crash that killed a woman in Georgia. His attorney, Amanda Palmer, tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Blaylock agreed Monday to a plea deal on a vehicular homicide charge. The 15-year sentence breaks down to seven years in prison, with four suspended, and probation for eight.Forty-three-year-old Monica Murphy died in the May 2013 head-on crash. Blaylocks attorneys have said a medical condition caused the ex-player to black out on the road and no alcohol was found in his system.Palmer says the deal calls for the prison sentence to be cut to three years as long as Blaylock serves 1,500 hours of community service and seeks treatment for alcoholism.Blaylock was a first-round draft pick by the New Jersey Nets in 1989.
